A hot summer day on the way!

Yep, if the weatherman is correct, it will be a steamy one today. A high of 30C is predicted Sun and cloud expected after the thunder and lightning.

Lorraine and I will be acting as greeters this coming Sunday for the Terry Fox Run in Haliburton. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone take part. The Minden run will begin at 9.30 am and the Haliburton run at 12 noon.

Welcome to the 55+ Senior Summer Games participants. They’ll be out at Pinestone Resort and Conference Centre today for a range of game activities … and then a banquet to cap off the day. Have fun!

Live, Laugh and Learn day!

Today I’ll be over in L’Amable, just past Bancroft, at Dungannon Hall, to speak about living as a Boomer & Zoomer. It should be a lot of fun. This is the first of a series of mobile lectures being put on by the Haliburton Highlands Chapter of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons. Donna Gagnon is the lead off speaker talking about researching your family history. Donna runs WeGoBack and is well-known in our area.

Today is September 3rd, and the weather is shaping up to give us some cool overnight temperatures just to let us know that “things are-a-changing”

Some families have got the young-uns heading back to school today and I’m sure there’ll be a lot of excitement and confusion connected with that. Good luck all.

We’re still getting over the effects of gaining 5 hours but, after a wonderful visit with relatives and dear ones throughout England, we are on home planet once again. This morning, in our first hour, we’ll play an interesting chat we had earlier this week with Eric Duhatscheck, hockey writer for the Globe and Mail. Eric and 11 members of his family are going to the After the Flood concert Saturday night.


In our second hour, right after the 8am news, David Mills and Glen Carter, stars of The Sunshine Boys (opening next week at the Highland Summer Festival), will share some schtick with Lorraine and I. It should be fun.
